Charles is an author, fitness trainer, nutritionist and changer of lives. He earned his Master's degree in public health from Walden University and his Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is certified as a personal trainer and women's fitness specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He earned his nutrition certification from the American Council on Exercise.
Charles began his career as a personal trainer at a local gym in north Texas. After completing his undergraduate degree he began a career in corporate fitness, an industry which he has over eight years experience in. Charles has also spent time changing the health of United States Military personnel stateside and abroad. He spent time as a health educator at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma and as a fitness trainer on a U.S. Army camp in Kuwait. As a public speaker he has presented on topics such as mental health, nutrition, men's health, exercise and more to audiences of all ages. Other areas of experience include chronic disease management, epidemiology, sports-specific training and coaching.
Charles first began writing in 2014, resulting in the completion of his first book The Toilet Book: What Goes In Matters which puts a light touch on the link between health and what our bodies place in the toilet. He then wrote The 85/15 Diet Plan: Making Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Simple, a book designed to make it easy for anyone to eat healthy, exercise and lose weight.
Charles' wellness philosophy begins and ends with nutrition while mixing in plenty of exercise, stress management and fun in the middle.
